So, I'm Gay

    Last night, I finally came to terms with the fact that I wasn't bisexual or bicurious. Me, my two roommates, and one of their friends was watching a movie, and they started talking about what kind of girl they wanted. And the whole time, I just kept thinking that I really didn't want a girl. My entire life I've been trying to force myself to be bisexual, but listening to that conversation last night just cleared it all up for me.

    After taking a two hour walk around town to clear my head, I went back and thought about the female crushes I had. I realized that a good portion of them were just fabricated, and that I'd bought into my own lies in order to make myself feel better about not wanting a girl. Then, I said it out loud - I'm gay. It was kind of a shock, and the next day it still is, but I know it's the truth. I'm not saying that I will never find love with a woman, but for now I know that I wanna be with a guy, or at least try it out. I'm not sure where I go from here, but I know that it can only go uphill now that I'm not lying to myself anymore. :icon_bigg

    Congratulations on coming to the realization of who you are. :slight_smile: ♥

    My story is quite similar to yours, for a very long time I considered (to myself only) that I must be bi. But I discovered I truly don't like guys, sexually or romantically. I'm into girls and that's the way I was born. I just made it seem like I had crushes on guys but they were really fabricated, like you mentioned, I was making myself believe my own lies. I was in a dark place for a while. Now I can say "I'm Gay" aloud (when no one else is around lololo) because I'm coming to accept who I am.

    I can't waiting for that realization/moment when I can finally just accept myself and shut up all the "what-ifs" in my head...I know I can be romantic with girls (cuz I have been) but I'm way more sexually attracted to guys and have only recently begun to allow myself to process this..so I'm hoping the moment comes soon! Thanks for sharing! And congrats..I admire u!

    I think it is totally awesome how a nice long walk can kind of clear the mind a bit. I think it is safe to say that we are all proud of you. ^.^

    No rush on that part; it's YOU that you have to live with for the rest of your life. Figuring yourself out is the most important... everything else is secondary.
