So on my lil journey of pondering i've decided id like to find a local lgbt group, chatting on forums is great but i think i actually need to talk about it face to face and hopefully make some new friends! I can't really discuss it very well with family/friends as they are all straight and i think if i hear 'maybe you've not found the right man yet' again i might be tempted to bite someones head off.

However i'm really struggling to find a local lgbt group :icon_sad: In all my goggle searches ive found one uni group (no good, not a student and a bit of an age gap that would make me feel uncomfortable) and another one thats a part of kenric, i did drop the local woman whos supposed to run it an email, but no reply. Also that group states that you must be a lesbian to join and i'm not sure what i am yet, i'm certainly leaning in that direction but i'm not wanting to label myself yet. They also want money for a yearly subscription or some such, but i'm pern broke so really not an option.

Anyone got any ideas? Im based in the UK btw

Hey im in the UK too but I think it depends where abouts in the UK you are. I dont think there are that many, I did at one point when I was coming out find one in my area. I think they are more common in the bigger cities so depending on where you live you might have to go a little further a field.

Normally being able to find the LGBT community around your area is a bit hard, but the trick is to find that one person who will connect you to everything else. Once you meet someone who is connected then you are pretty much connected to all of them.

Have you tried emailing the LGBT group at your local uni? The people running it might know about other organizations or about any other resources that you might be interested on.

Now, if there really isn't anything available for you, then maybe you can think of starting something with the help of a friend?

I found a book reviewing and socialising group for gay women near high wycombe if that is nearer your area.

Did a quick google search myself. There's that LGBT group and apparently a hotline for finding other LGBT groups. Good luck
