here people can post any songs that they find inspirational or have helped them, whether with their sexuality, or anything. i'll start

    Faint - Linkin Park

    Lyrics:

I am a little bit of loneliness a little bit of disregard
Handful of complaints but I can’t help the fact that everyone can see
    these scars
I am what I want you to want what I want you to feel
But it's like no matter what I do, I can't convince you, to just believe
    this is real
So I let go, watching you, turn your back like you always do
Face away and pretend that I'm not
But I'll be here 'cause you're all that I got

    [Chorus]
(I can't feel the way I did before)
(Don't turn your back on me)
    (I won't be ignored)
(Time won't heal this damage anymore)
(Don't turn your back on me)
    (I won't be ignored)

I am a little bit insecure a little unconfident
Cause you don't understand I do what I can but sometimes I don't make
    sense
I am what you never wanna say but I've never had a doubt
It's like no matter what I do I can't convince you for once just to hear
    me out
So I let go watching you turn your back like you always do
Face away and pretend that I'm not
But I'll be here 'cause you're all that I've got

    [Chorus]
(I can't feel the way I did before)
(Don't turn your back on me)
    (I won't be ignored)
(Time won't heal this damage anymore)
(Don't turn your back on me)
    (I won't be ignored)

    (No)
    (Hear me out now)
(You're gonna listen to me, like it or not)
    (Right now)
    (Hear me out now)
(You're gonna listen to me, like it or not)
    (Right now)

(I can't feel the way I did before)
(Don't turn your back on me)
    (I won't be ignored)

    [Chorus]
(I can't feel the way I did before)
(Don't turn your back on me)
    (I won't be ignored)
(Time won't heal this damage anymore)
(Don't turn your back on me)
    (I won't be ignored)

    I can't feel
Don't turn your back on me
    I won't be ignored
    Time won't heal
Don't turn your back on me
    I won't be ignored

Umm probably Billy Joel - Vienna and Cartel - Save Us

I like Linkin Park too so I'll have to check out that song. I think I've heard it before though.

    Smile - Westlife

Smile though your heart is aching
    Smile even though it's breaking
When there are clouds in the sky, you'll get by
If you smile through your fear and sorrow
    Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll see the sun come shining through for you

Light up your face with gladness
    Hide every trace of sadness
Although a tear may be ever so near
That's the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what's the use of crying?
You'll find that life is still worthwhile
    If you just smile

That's the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what's the use of crying?
You'll find that life is still worthwhile
    If you just smile

Lame i know, but i like the lyrics.

Reel big fish- where have you been?

You called me up last night in tears and said you missed me after all these years
Well I’ve been waiting here so long, I’ve gotten over it since you've been gone
You called me late last night again and said you're finished with your new boyfriend
Asked if you could come back home- so sorry that you left me all alone

You say you love me, love me again but if you love me- where have you been?
You say you need me more than anyone else well go to hell, where have you been?
You showed up at my door today and said my friend why do you push me away
Your life with him was just so dull but what we had was something wonderful

You say you love me, you love me again but if you love me- where have you been?
You say you need me more than anyone else well go to hell- where have you been?
No way! You wish! I don't need this! What makes you think I’d ever want you again?
Yeah right! As if! I don't need this What makes you think I'd ever want you again?

    Anastacia ~ Paid My Dues
    [YOUTUBE]http://youtube.com/watch?v=8bKPxXoBHe0[/YOUTUBE]
    [Spoken:]
You can say what you want about me
Wanna do what you want to me
But you can not stop me

    I've been knocked down
    It's a crazy town
Even got punched in the face in L.A.
Ain't nothing in the world that you keep
me from doing what I wanna do

'Cause I'm too proud, I'm too strong
Live by the code that you gotta move on
    Feeling sorry for yourself
    Ain't got nobody nowhere

    so I...
    (Held my head high)
    Knew I (Knew I survive)
Well I made it (I made it)
    I don't hate it (Don't hate it)
That's just the way it goes
    Yeah
    I done made it through
    Stand on my own two
    I paid my dues, yeah
    Tried to hold me down
    You can't stop me now
    I paid my dues

    [Spoken:]
    so like i told you
    You cannot stop me
    I paid my dues

    Now I'm still tested everyday
people try to mess with Anastacia
    gotta nothing in common
    cause I handle mine
and I thought I better let you know

    I'm no punk I can't get down
    I don't give a damn about who's around
that was just fine 'til now

    So I...
    (Held my head high)
    Knew I (Knew I survive)
Well I made it (I made it)
    Oahh (Don't hate it)
That's just the way it goes
    Yeah
    I done made it through
    Stand on my own two
    I paid my dues
    Yeah yeah
    Tried to hold me down
    you can't stop me now
    I paid my dues, yeah
    yeah yeah yeah
Took so long to get me here (here)
But I won't live in fear (fear)
You try to steal my shine (shine)
But first they wanna build you up (up)
Then they tear you down (down)
It's a struggle tryin' to bubble
    so I...
    (Held my head high)
    Knew I (Knew I survive)
    Oahh (I made it)
    (Don't hate it)
    Said that's - just - the - wayyyyy
    (I done made it through)
    (Stand on my own two)
I said I paid my, I paid my dues
    Yeahhhhh
    (Tried to hold me down)
But you can't stop me now (you can't stop me now)
(I paid my dues) I paid my, paid my dues
(I done made it through) oahhh
(Stand on my own two) oh
(I paid my dues) I paid my, I paid my dues
yeahh (Tried to hold me down)
But you can't stop me now (you can't stop me now)
(I paid my dues) I paid my dues

Defying Gravity- WICKED the Musical (Tad obsessed lol, the original song its a duet...but I'm just posting the solo version of it)

    Something has changed within me.
    Something is not the same.
    I'm through with playing by,
the rules of someone elses game.
    To late for second guessing.
To late to go back to sleep.
Its time to trust my instincts.
    Close my eyes.
    And Leap,
its time to try defying gravity.
I think I'll try defying gravity.
And you cant pull me down!

    I'm through accepting limits!
    Cuz someone says there so,
    somethings, I cannot change,
but till I try I'll never know!
To long I've been afraid of,
losing love I guess I've lost!
    Well if thats love,
it comes at much to high a cost!
    I'd sooner buy, defying gravity!
Kiss me goodbye I'm defying gravity!
And you cant pull me down!

    Unlimited.
    My future is unlimited.
And I just had a vision,
    almost like prophecy,
    I know.
    It sounds truly crazy.
    And true the vision's hazy.
    But I swear,
    someday I'll be,
    up in the sky,
    defying gravity.
    Flying so high,
    I'm defying gravity.
And you cant pull me down.

So if you care to find me,
    look to the western sky!
    As somoeone told me lately,
"Everyone deserves the chance to FLY!"
    And if I'm flying solo!
    At least I'm flying free!
    To those who'd ground me,
    take a message back,
    from me.
Tell them how I am defying gravity!
    I'm flying high,
    DEFYING gravity!
And soon I'll match them in renown!
    And nobody,
    in all of Oz.
No Wizard that there is or was!
    Is ever gonna bring,
    ME! Down!
    Bring me down!
    Ahahaha!!!
    (This song helped me alot!)

anything by imogen heap, not always because of her music's content but her voice is just always really soothing. some of them seemed really pertinent to how i felt at that time and were reassuring though

I really like these lines in her song "Speeding Cars":

    "There there baby
    it's just text book stuff
it's in the ABC of growing up
    Now now darling
    oh don't lose your head
cause none of us were angels
and you know I love you yeah"

They just reminded me that the whole coming out process was just part of growing up and becoming who I am and that it wasn't something to lose my head over. I think the song is actually about her forgiving someone who cheated on her but that wasn't how i initially interpreted it

And yeah, if you have never listened to imogen heap...GO GET HER MOST RECENT CD. It's entitled "Speak for Yourself" and it quickly became one of my favorite CDs ever, she has a unique sound and her music just never gets old for me

edit: heres a link for the song "Speeding Cars" that i was talking about, take a listen if you don't know it. http://youtube.com/watch?v=S3R0RHNHaU4

Ween - Rainbow (I love it )

Many colors in the homo rainbow
Don't be afraid to let your colors shine
Many colors in the homo rainbow
Show me yours. I'm gonna show you mine

If you find a pot of gold
Every little thing is gonna work out fine
    In the homo rainbow

Many colors in the homo rainbow
You give me shade from black to yellow
Many colors in the homo rainbow
    A warm embrace and a kind-a hello

If you find a pot of gold
Every little thing is gonna work out fine
    In the homo rainbow

If you find a pot of gold
Every little thing is gonna work out fine
    In the homo rainbow
Every single color, every walk of life
In & out changin, every day and night
From the golden shores of Kansas, to the middle of Japan
reach inside your soul and learn your fellow...

There are many colors in the homo rainbow
Don't be afraid to let your colors shine
Don't be ashamed of what God made you

I don't know why, but Wish by Hitomi is about the only song I'll even listen to when I'm sad. I don't even know what the lyrics mean.
Also, Too Little Too Late by Jojo. >.<

"Blackbird" and "Hey Jude" by The Beatles. Only songs that have made me cry.

There are other songs that have helped me, but it just depends on the problem and the song. For anger, upbeat, loud rock songs, for depression, slow, very harmonic and calming songs. It's really all variable.

    Cartel - Say Anything (else)

And baby don't follow their lead
    'cause you'll never know
Just how the story ends, or how the story goes
    And you are so confused
And baby it's just like you
    to say anything else

    Whenever you get this way
Just getting up for the let down,
Mmm here they come and YES they're here to stay
Just getting up for the let down

Oh I'm here to say that you're the star you wanna be
Just open up and look inside and you will see, you<-----

Someday you'll sing it out loud
One day this will make you proud
    Whoa oh, "I know..."
    Whoa oh

And baby don't follow their lead
    'cause you never know
Just how the story ends, or how the story goes
    And you are so confused,
And baby its just like you
    to say anything else

It's time for you to understand
Stop getting up for the let down
Oh, who you are is not up to them
Stop getting up for the let down

And I'm here to say that you're the star you wanna be
Just open up and look inside, you will see

Someday you'll sing it out loud
One day this will make you proud
    Whoa oh, "I know..."
    Whoa oh

Someday you'll sing it out loud
One day this will make you proud
    Whoa oh, "I know..."
"I know..." is never good enough.

    So say what you want
(You know you're wasting all my time)
Gotta mean it when you say what you want
(You're only safe when you're alone)
    And everybody's on your mind
Saying anything to get you by

And so to get what you want
(You know you're wasting all my time)
    You gotta mean it
(You're only safe when you're alone)
And when you say what you want
    Your wasting everybody's time
Your saying anything that gets you by

It's not, not, not gonna get you,
    g-gonna get you by

Some day you'll sing it out loud
One day this will make you proud
    Whoa oh, "I know..."
"I know..." is never good enough

Someday you'll sing it out loud
One day this will make you proud
    Whoa oh, "I know..."
    Whoa oh
    Whoa oh, "I Know..."
"I know..." is never good enough
