So, I recently found out that I'm gay, and I really don't want to tell my parents that I'm gay. They are conservative southern baptists and they dislike homosexuals. I feel like they would hate me if they knew I am gay, and I really don't know if they would ever get over it. Are there any advantages to coming out to my parents?
Well I cant really say much because I'm not out to my parents. but I think the advantages just depend on you, you know like what you want I guess. For me it would be for their support, for them to accept me for the real me, so I wouldn't have to live a double life around them..etc. But I mean not everyone gets that stuff.. not everyones parents are that perfect fantasy. I know mine sure aren't. but I guess you just have to try, or not try. Its your choice. a good ideal would be to make a pro and cons list P.S just know you have support here if you tell your parents if it works or doesnt there are people here for you If you dont, there are still going to be people here for you. Goodluck!! (*hug*)
