So I really came out yesterday by accident, but today I said to myself that I should get to tell people... So I made it a Facebook status. And my moms friends saw it and started talking down to her. And shes not taking up for me. Even though she says she accepts me. Do you guys think she's ashamed...

I don't think it necessarily means she's ashamed - it probably just means she's caught in the middle of an unexpected situation. She probably didn't expect to have to "circle the wagons," so to speak, and she may be stumbling through the situation a bit. Keep in mind that, while this has been something you've been thinking about for a long time, it's possible that it's news to her.

What you do have concretely is her word that she accepts and supports you - which is very good news indeed.

I say, run with the good.
