The Letter

Discussion in 'Coming Out Advice' started by CierraCadaver, Sep 2, 2012.

  1. I am 14. I am a girl. I am a lesbian. My family doesn't know. I want to write them a letter. I am so scared I am shaking. What should I say? How should I say it. I am so scared that she is going to say "It's just a phase Cierra, I don't want to hear anything else about it!" What do I say if she says that? Gosh, I'm just so nervous...

You could write about how you feel. Tell them that you know that this is not a phase. Say it the way that you feel more comfortable.

You can always post the letter on here and we can proofread it. We can also offer some suggestions.

Have you seen the Coming Out Letters in the resource section? There are a lot of examples to look at there.

I take it it's mostly your mother you are worried about. Do you have reason to worry? Has she given you reason to believe that she might react the way that you describe?

How is your relationship with your parents overall? What sort of people are they?
