Seems like every place i look online [forum, general support] is only for LGBT youth. I'm 28 and need a place where I can speak to people a little more around my age... 25+ anyone have any suggestions?
There are plenty of people in your age group here. There are people anywhere from like 15 to 50, so just look under people's usernames as you browse postings and maybe reach out to those in your age range.
There isn't an age limit on EC that I know of, and there are quite a few members a lot older than you. If you particularly want to speak to people your age, you could send wall posts to some EC members who are closer to your age (or pm them after you become a full member). I don't know of any other sites, but I'm sure someone will have a suggestion.
Don't worry, there are other members here that are in you age group. I'm sure that they will comment on here. There is no age limit here. We are for all ages 13 and up.
I may be 23, but I'd like to think I have some worldy wisdom and relatability. But we do have a lot of people over thirty, including a fair bit of our moderating team. Ianthe is around your age and quite insightful.
Welcome! We've been working on making EC more welcoming to older members, and it seems to be working! We have a pretty large group of members in the 30 to 60 age range, and some who are older as well. I think you'll find that you can get some really good advice from some of the younger crowd, but there are plenty of people your age and well beyond just dealing with beginning to come out and all that comes with doing so at an older age. As far as we know, there isn't any other community, regardless of age its aimed at, that is as focused on help and support for LGBT people as EC is, so perhaps you're best off here
I think the variety of ages here on EC is all part of its charm, I think it is good to talk to people of different ages with different life experiences, it means if you have a problem you get the widest perspective of opinions on fixing it. (Although I do understand why its nice to see people of your own age, I felt that when I first signed up).
