So I've slowly been coming out to a few friends this week, and I'm hoping that it will all culminate in me telling my parents. They haven't ever expressed anti-gay sentiments before so I'm really nervous, but not super concerned. One thing I am concerned about however, is my girlfriend. Do I tell them I'm already dating someone when I send them my coming out letter? I want them to know because she is the primary reason I want to come out now, but at the same time I'm more afraid they will be wary that I'm dating someone I met online, regardless of how many years I've emailed, texted, called, and skyped with her. Do you think it is safe for me to still tell them I'm with someone?
