I am a transgender who is still in the closet, I am planning to tell my schools counsellors in about 2 months time. The problem is that recently I have been feeling more depressed and I worry that I will harm myself. Could you please tell me what to do to stop myself from harming?

Hi there! If you feel depressed and worry that you could self-harm, why not talk to a school counselor in this coming week? (*hug*)

Whenever you have an urge to self-harm, call a friend, or try to get together with that friend, and just talk about what you would usually talk about. If that is not possible, do whatever helps you to shift your thoughts and to keep focused on something that you know will keep you busy for some time, which will help in overcoming the urge. Another avenue would be to write out all of you thoughts and feelings that you are experiencing at that moment on a piece of paper.

You will be able to get through this without self-harm. (*hug*)

I agree. If you are feelign so bad, now may be the right time to talk to someone.

I'm sorry you are feeling this way.
