I've read a lot of stories in this forum..and they all struck me rather deep.....gay people go through so much..but usually straight people just refer blindly back to the bible to cast it away as a sin. It's stupid how people do that, cause those who say that homosexuality is a sin aren't pile-of-roses-pure-people themselves, so they're only contradicting themselves.

    Just wanted to say that.

Well, thanks for taking the time to tell us that. It's always good to hear a straight person (or anyone really) saying that they understand how LGBT people are discriminated against, and recognize how wrong it is.

    Soooo....thanks for posting this.

WOW! A straight person on a gay forum, and he's nice!!! I think that it's great that there's a straight person who's so accepting. But I was also wondering.........what led you to our forums?

    Crimson Archers cousin.

Its good that you realise that Jon, no one is perfect and the bible is old and majority is irrelevant. The only parts that are relevant is not stealing, being nice etc. The morals.

    Thank you Jon. (*hug*)

I really wish more people were aware of that, and understood what we all go through before coming out. Then perhaps they wouldn't dismiss it or condemn it so quickly.

We love supportive straight people here! Thank you.

If more straight people would reach out and try to understand the gay and lesbian community a little more, we would have no problems with this civil rights issue. Thank you for being here and being understanding! (*hug*)

Dan Savage referred on "Real Time" to the Bible as a list of "ancient Desert prejudices"..
    I like that.
Thanks for being a strong Ally!

Most of us straights don't really give it a lot of thought until someone close or in the family comes out, our sexuality is not something we question it just is.

I realised just how hard and lonely it is when I came here to educate myself. I quickly came to understand what my son had had to go through on his own at a very young age and felt the utmost respect and admiration for him for accepting himself for who he is.

Most straights say stupid things through ignorance more than out of unkindness, having said that I do accept that there are a lot of mean people out there, but please don't put us all in the same boat.

It seems to me that there is more and more tolerance towards homosexuality even though there is still a lot of work to be done. We see here over and over the anxiety that people put themselves through and then their parents are OK with it. Not always no, but we straights have our own stereotypes and prejudices, by which the homosexual community judge us, to overcome.

I for one love all you guys here, for yourselves and the help you have unwittingly been to me and undoubtedly for my son.
