I've started telling people that I'm gay, and I've gotten to the point with myself that I want others to know. Trouble is, I still feel really awkward telling people. I'm just not sure how to really do it. "Oh btw, I'm gay." It just doesn't really sound good to me. Plus, I'm an introvert, and don't like having a lot of attention on myself or people making a big deal of something. So any tips on how to make it less awkward?
My theory on coming out is wait for something to make it appropriate. Like LGBT issues in politics are brought up, or dating is discussed. I don't think it makes a good conversation starter, no.
Basically what he said ^ It's all about the way that you tell people. If you just say it randomly out of the blue, it's going to seem pretty awkward. However, if you are able to casually mention it during a somewhat related topic, it doesn't seem awkward at all.
