Envy

Discussion in 'Coming Out Advice' started by nintenfreak92, Feb 13, 2008.

  1. Lately I have become very envious of my friend who I am out to. He has a girlfriend and they seem like they are perfect for each other and I want that. I hate myself because of it, but I always get angry and jealous when they talk about each other.

I know the feel of seeing yours friend having a healthy relationship that you only wish you can have but I try to stay happy for them because in the end I know that I do truly care for them and that I'm glad they are happy.

That feeling is only natural and I personally don't believe that you should feel guilt at all. If it were to develop the point where you resented this friend merely because he has something that you want (not the girl specifically, the relationship), then I would be concerned.

My advice is to try your hardest to be happy for him. Patience is key. Someone will come along for you. Trust me.
