We were in the car today and she said (just randomly, btw) "You couldn't pay me all the money in the world to have a gay son". This obviously hurts a lot and I'm feeling pretty down atm. I also went to see the fireworks in the city with a friend of mine, and my mum was asking if I gave her a 'new years kiss'; like, wtf..?
Sometimes people cannot fully accept it, they have to go through all the mental processes first to be able to. They have to go through all the stages of denial, grief, and anger. It isn't just you who had to accept yourself, it's your mother too. It's like when I came out to my partner, I had to be very understanding that they had to work through all the cogs and work through all the stages before they could come to acceptance. I take the personal acceptance as a way to understand how other people have to go through the acceptance.
