I have a crush on my best friend but I don't know if is gay or not. He's shy so it's hard to tell if he is gay or straight let alone if he likes me. He usually only talks to me and walks with me after school every day, but those aren't very strong indications. What do I do?
Talk to him about it. Are you out? If you suspect it, talk to him and say things like "Did you see in the news (blah-blah-blah) about gay marriage. What do ya think about that?" How deep is your crush? How old are you guys? Will it ruin your friendship if you told him you liked him?

when you guys walk together, try to bring up some gay topics randomly and see how he reacts. A straight person is expected to act moderately. Being extremely homophobic is a sign of being gay in denial.
