So I've narrowed down the bajilliondy names out there to two that I'm liking a lot. Eric/Erik (still undecided on the spelling) OR Lucas (Luke) SO I figured I would ask you all. Seeing as I'm like 99.99% sure that only one person on here knows my birth name, I was wondering if anyone had any input on my name. I know. I know. This is my decision. Ultimately, if I decide I like one more than the other, then this entire thread will be obsolete because my opinion outweighs everything as far as this is concerned. BUT! That being said, I'd like an outsiders opinion. Naming is hard... I thought I had one good for me, but I've been trialling it with my Mum for a week now but it just isn't feeling right so back to the drawing board.
Like those names a lot. How about looking up the meaning of those names. You should pick something that means something to you! And congrats - Great step for you
I am biased as I like all L names. Perhaps you should have someone call you by both and see which one makes you feel better. I stuck with Louis because I like the way I feel when someone calls me Louis.
Well -- which of these fits you better? The given name Eric or Erik is derived from the Old Norse name Eiríkr. The name is thus usually taken to mean "one ruler" or "eternal ruler" or "ever powerful," etc. Lukas or Lucas is the Latin form of the Greek name Loukas (Λουκάς), meaning "from Lucania".[1] Gained popularity from the biblical personality and gospel author Saint Luke.
Eric (Although I may be a bit biased toward that name, as I am currently crushing heavily on an Eric.)
I had a brother once named Eric so I've always been really partial to that name. I would pick Eric just to let the name live on.
