Is this a good development?

I came out about a year and one month ago, and although my mum tried to be accepting of it I can tell she had her reservations. She would treat me as though I was just really, really confused and didn't know what I wanted. And she would always flinch and say "yuck!" if two gay people kissed on a TV show. We haven't really spoke about it at all since, but I went on a date recently and told my sister. I didn't want to tell my mum just yet, not because of her reaction but because I wanted to make sure I liked the guy. Needless to say my sister is a really bad liar and my mum was suspicious of where I was going out to so well-dressed and nervous. My sister ended up saying "well, maybe he's...meeting a boy or something." and she said my mum paused and said "...Well I hope he's a nice boy!"

Would you say this is a good development in the situation?

Definitely. I mean, she could have just said, "Yuck!", right?
