So, today I had an interesting conversation with some friends of mine after an old teacher of mine greeted me as a boy in front of them. They teased me about it because he was genuinely surprised when he recognised me so I decided to tell them as casually as I could that I did not mind at all. The convo went something like that: Me: Well, you guys know I don't mind at all when people assume I'm a boy. D: Yeah, but we will still tease you. (in a joking manner) E: So you want a sex change? (in an ambiguous way but I think she was serious) Me: No. D: If you had one, though, what would we call you? Would you change your name? Me: Ermmm... Aleko? What you already call me? (Alekos is a short form of the masculine version of my birth name that I've been using for years) D: Nah, I think we'd call you Alexandra. (my obviously feminine birth name) Just to piss you off. (*laughs*) Me: (*laughs*) I don't really feel like anything, anyway. E: So you're unisex? (half-joking, half-serious) Me: You can call it that. ...and then the conversation shifted to something different. I think it counts, but do you guys think they'll dismiss it as something silly?
