I thought I'd share this story - it made me feel pretty good this morning. Once in a while, if my bf is going to meet me after work downtown, he'll drop me off at the train station so that we only have one car to drive home in the evening. They have a 'kiss and ride' area at the station where you can pull in to get dropped off, and we have often joked about giving each other a kiss - but never do. We live in the suburbs of Toronto. And while it's a pretty liberal and open minded community, it's also not like being downtown in the gay 'village'. It's quite family oriented. So up until now we've both been a little uncomfortable kissing each other in public. Well, this morning was one of those mornings, as he's coming downtown to have dinner with me at a friends house. So we pulled into the train station this morning, and we kind of gave each other a bit of a look, and I leaned back in and kissed him on the lips goodbye! It was so cool. I know it sounds silly, but it was a bit of an event for both of us! (!) I jus tthought I'd share!
Yay!!! (!)(!)(!) See? it just takes time... *imagination runs and wonders what may happen in a year or two* Just kidding!!!
That's fantastic!! And it just shows how you're growing in courage too! And the more people see such displays, the more they will accept them! Let's get rid of the double standard! Congrats! (!)
That's exactly what I think! Why shouldn't we kiss each other goodbye? They don't call it the 'hetro only' kiss and ride drop off area! :eusa_danc
Way to go. It is actually called a kiss and ride area? Do they have a picture of a stick figure man kissing a stick figure woman?
No stick figures that I have seen, but they do refer to the lanes as the "Kiss and Ride drop off area".
Very cool! I get a similar feeling when I tell my friends "Oooh, look, that guy's hot!". It's silly too but it's expressing your homosensuality (I made up that word) to the world and it feels incredibly good
That's a great story Jim. I'm not sure if I would ever have that much courage when the time comes. I agree, that's part of life. I don't think we should hide it.
'Feel's like no one else in the room...' That's great Jim !! I'm still a little shy in public, I don't know why, maybe be cause my bf is a little shy too. I'm tired of not showing public affection.
