I was not expecting to come out to her so soon, but a conversation came up and I figured that it would be as good of time as any to come out to her. I was telling her that I signed up for the campus "help the freshman move in event" and I accidentally mentioned that I had asked for my nametag to say Brad. She was a bit confused by this. I told her that it was a college nickname. I (about an hour later) brought the conversation back up. I asked her if she wanted to know the truth about the nametag. So, then I told her that Brad was my male name and that I am transgender. She laughed at me because I freaked out so much about telling her..lol. Anyways, she calmed me down and told me that she had known for a while. She figured with all of the transgender stuff that I watched on T.V. and the stuff that I share on facebook that I was transgender. So, it was really not a surprise to her at all. She is 100 percent supportive of me. (She did thrown in a funny comment of "have fun explaining that to your grandma"..lol) Tl;dr: I freaked out when I came out to my mom. She was totally ok with it and had known for a while.
