I came out to a guy that I talk with online through an internet game today. I'm a hopeless flirt with straight guy friends, and he is no exception. I've never met him before (one of those internet things) and I know he's 100% straight, but it's always fun to make cute little passes at him to see what he'll do. He always plays along. And then today he sent me a private message: S: so... Me: ? S: you just play at being gay or are you actually gay? Me: I am Ask Din (a mutual friend who's also gay) S: hehe S: more power to ya It was short, sweet, and without any drama whatsoever. I wish all coming outs were like that. Seconds later we were back to talking about normal stuff and it hasn't phased him at all. Sometimes I just wish people would shrug it off just like that. Anyway.. just felt like sharing.
Glad to hear it. What game was it that you were playing? I've thought about coming out to a group of guys that I've been playing DotA with for the past... 5-6 years? But, I don't really think my sexuality matters to people I'll never meet and that I really don't know that well (on a personal level). Besides, lots of people online are homophobic, especially in the video game world. Congratulations on him accepting it without any second thought. I wonder if your little flirty things are making him uncomfortable though?
I doubt it. He sent a global message of 'night lover' directed toward me before he left followed by a wink. I think it's safe to say he doesn't really care. As for the game, it's a MUD (Multi-User Dungeon), which is an old-school text-based game, called Ivalice. Based on Final Fantasy.
I love those. I am totally out and very flirty in the game I play too. People freak out sometimes XD Congrats!!
