So, if anyone's read my thread in Support and Advice, you'll know that I wanted to come out to my English teacher. I got a note that morning, and she wanted me to just tell her then, but I went to her room during a study hall today with two friends for moral support, and this is how it went: Me: So, I kinda don't know why I want to tell you this, and it's totally random, but I started thinking about it in January and I've told some friends, but I kinda wanted to tell an adult. Her: Okay. Me: I like girls. But like, I like both. Guys and girls. Her: And that's completely fine. We just sorta talked for the rest of the period; she wanted to know if I felt better, how long I had known, who I was out to, if I had any particular girls in mind (I said no, but only because the girl was in the room...:icon_wink ). And then she said "You know, I knew this was what you were going to tell me. When you came to ask to talk to me this morning, I thought 'She likes girls.'" Which kinda worried me, but she said "No, you really can't tell, I just couldn't think of anything else you would be telling me." Sorry, this is a long post. Well done! :eusa_clap Your teacher sounds very understanding and forward-thinking. I know I had a few teachers in high school I wouldn't have every dreamed of coming out to! You're very brave.

That's wonderful, congrats! I came out to my English teacher last year. We always got along well, and he's gay. I came to his office to take a make-up test, and I was in floods of tears because of something that had happened with the girl I was into at the time. He sat me down and told me I didn't have to do the test right then, and if I wanted to talk he'd listen, so I spilled everything. He was such a great help to me, lent me books, and listened to and reassured me about everything.
