Last Wednesday, I moved into the residence halls at my school for the third year. I had already talked to my living learning community leader about changing my name, so she was cool with it. I had not talked to my RA because I could not find her info anywhere. I talked to her and she changed my nameplate without any problems.

I live on a all girls floor, so some people had questions. They all are really accepting though. I'm going to talk about it some more at my floor meeting, because some people are still confused about which pronouns to use and things like that. They are learning though, so that's awesome!

Also, my bosses have been cool about it too. They occasionally slip up, but that's to be expected since they knew me for 2 years as Ashley and not Brad. They are working on it though, so that is awesome!

I also emailed all of my professors and they had no problems changing my name on their rosters. They are all 100% accepting. It's pretty cool.

So, now all I need to do is come out to my dad. This is probably happening this weekend, because he is coming up to school because some of my textbooks were delivered to the wrong address. So, then I'm be pretty close to 100% out!

Awesome! Glad to hear that everyone's so accepting, and it's cool your professors changed your name and they're all on board. I'll be doing the same when Uni rolls around the corner...

Also best of luck when coming out to your dad.

    Thanks everybody!

I didn't come out to my dad on Saturday like I had planned. So, something came up in a conversation between my mom and dad and my mom (with my permission) told my dad that I am trans*.

My dad's response "Do you think I'm fucking blind".

So.. he took it pretty well. He has the normal concerns (discrimination and that kind of thing) but they are totally ok with me being trans*.
