Well I've finally did it, I told my parents. Originally I was going to wait until college so that I could avoid any akward moments in case things went south, but after being on this site for a while I decided that they desevred the right to know. Ill try to keep my description to the point. I decided to write them a letter cause I really didnt want to say it cause I was terrified by their reaction. I didnt think it would be too bad but you always have the nagging dount in your mind that they'll start quoting Leviticus at you. So I gave my mom the letter as she was dropping me off at work and told her to wait and read it until my dad got home. That night after I got home from work they didnt say anything but I knew they had read it cause it was on the kitchen counter. So they didnt say anything that night to me so I was freaking out that they were in denial or something. After I woke up that morning they both came into my room and we talked about it. They couldnt have had a better reaction to it. They said that I was their son no matter what and that they loved me. They were more concerned about my safety than with me being gay, and they said that they had pretty much guessed it. But my dad said something amazing that I have to remember for the rest of my life. "God dosent make mistakes" I thought that was the most amazing thing that anyone has ever said on the subject. So there I just had to have one moment of happiness(!)
Wow congrats with that! It's so great that your parents took it so well and now you can be open and be your true self around them! Good job with that. Glad to hear it went so well.
"God doesn't make mistakes." That is one of the best coming out stories I have ever heard. You are very brave to come out to your parents, and very lucky to have such great ones! Congratulations!
Congrats on coming out to your parents !! One of the hardest steps in the coming out process is telling your parents
Yea, I can't think of something better for a parent to say who you thought might not accept you o.o Congrats =D Glad it went well for you
That's wonderful!! Congrats on what will probably be the hardest coming out you have going soooo well! (!)
