I've had my out status set to "everyone except my grandmother" for ages. I wasn't going to tell her, but she outright asked me. Our conversation went something like this.

    Grandma: "Do you like boys?"
    Me: "Not really."
    Grandma: "Men?"
    Me: "Not really."
    Granmda: "Girls?"
    Me:"......yesh."
    Grandma: "Whatever floats your boat."

I'm definately relieved, but it's odd being out to everyone when I don't know what I am. My grandfather told me "When that right person comes alaong, you just know. Nothing else matters. Race, age, sex.... none of that shit matters the moment you fall in love." I hope he's right.

That's great! I can't imagine my grandparents being that chill.

Thanks, you all. I still don't know what tipped her off, or how she could be so OK with it. This is the same woman that wouldn't let my mother date a black man when she was a teenager. I guess people really do change.

Glad to read that you are feeling relieved that it all went so well. Yep, people do change, and the extent to which they can change, can be surprising at times.
