Yesterday, I was walking home with two of my fiends from school, and I'd been thinking about telling them for ages. So yesterday I decided if I didn't tell them then, I never would, so I said, "I have something to tell you." I immediately wished I hadn't said it, but I had, so I spent about half an hour stalling, but eventually I had to tell them. We talked about it and they were so supportive and I feel so much better now, because one friend used my preferred name, which was the best thing that's happened to me for ages and I feel like I've never been happier. Nothing is different between us at all, bar my name.
