    Hey so with so many people having problems with coming out I thought it might be cool if some of the people who are already out, even if it is just to parents or a few friends, told there stories. Just talk about how you came out and anything you might recomend.

    Ok so for me I actualy had a hard time excepting the fact that I was gay. I have a denial problem v.v. So anyways I started instant messaging my best guy friend ever who was gay and he was completely out. (he went to high school with me). And we talked about it and i finally accepted what was going on. Then when I actually 'came out' to a freind, I came out to my best friend. I was so nervous I couldn't even say it lol. I had to write it down! But I felt a lot better afterwards. Telling my mom was hard but i just took a deep breath and said it. Now I just let myself be comfortable being me. :slight_smile:

    Actually, that's what this thread IS supposed to be. Here is where people post their success stories. Technically, asking for help and support should be in the support and advice section.
    If you look at a couple of back pages of this forum, you'll find that most all the posts were about their success stories.

    yeah but a lot of people post help for coming out in this area...i just thought it could be a place to go and look for stories...among all of the other questions and stuff...

    Well, you can look for stuff in back posts...but really, asking for help should be in the support section. I don't know why it's not that way now...

    lol yeah but everyone else is spazzing cuz i posted a thread with the same name as a forum. I've just noticed that most people dont just tell there story thats y i made the thread so they could read stories...but no one post's there stories ><

    the difference between this thread and the forum is that the forum is spread out into a trillion different places, and here they are all concentrated. i don't see a problem with the thread, so i will post MY coming out story:

    i moved really quickly. last october, i first comtemplated being bi. i debated it for a week (every minute, every way i could reason it), realized i was, and that was that. i came out to my best friend on oct 10th. i came out to various ppl in between, my parents in december, and in the next month or so, changed my status on facebook. i haven't had any really negative responses, but i haven't yet told my really religious friend, or my "racist, homophobic, patriotic, war-veteran grandfather".

    Well I think we have established that this thread serves the same purpose as the forum. I'm locking the thread seen as we have a whole forum for people to post their stories, and because only two of the posts actually contain any stories (the rest being a dramatic mess which is completely unnecessary anyway).
