I just came out to my mom! At first I was terrifically afraid of her reaction, but she said she has absolutely no problem with it! Now there is just one enemy to be faced with - or in fact four. My siblings. Two brothers, two sisters. Mommy and daddy both know, most of my friends know... I am (probably rightfully) proud of myself!
Congratulations on coming out to your mom! I am glad that your mother doesn't have a problem with your sexuality. I am glad that she accepts you. As for your siblings, you don't have to come out right away to them. You just told your mom. Let things sink in and settle before you come out to other people. That is my suggestion. You have your whole life to come out. Just take your time with coming out. It is a great experience to come out and coming out is not just a one-time thing!
Thank you! I definitely agree with you here, especially when my siblings are so much older than me and I barely know them, I was such a little girl when they moved away...
Thank you all! I actually used EC to help me come out. I showed the conversation about parents shouldn't assume their children's sexuality. My mother just asked "So I shouldn't be surprised if you barged in one day with a girlfriend?" "Exactly." "Okay. That's perfectly fine. It is, after all, all about finding the one you are comfortable with. No matter if it's a he or a she." I wish all your mothers were like mine <3
