I got an invite to a cheesey time share presentation, which was lame and as I should have expected over promised and under delivered in terms of the 'free gift' just for attending. But that's not the point. I was to bring my 'spouse or partner' and I brought my bf with me! I think this was our first appointment / outing in a typically hetrosexual environment. We've been out several times to gay bars and clubs, and we've gone on vacation together but could have been 'buddies'. But this thing was specifically to be your 'partner' because you were buying a long term vacation program. Anyway - it was pretty cool. The young woman that was our sales person was very cool with it. It might have been why they gave us to her - rather than having some of the older salesmen talk to us. I think we both found the experience to be somewhat liberating. It was cool to be out together like that. Just wanted to share! :eusa_danc
Congratz Jim thats great that you did that. But I would have wanted an older guy just to see his face drop:roflmao:
That's a great story Jim. I can imagine that it must have been liberating, not having to hide your relationship and just be yourselves.
Enjoy your 20-piece tool set. You'll come to realize that it's extremely rare (in a city like Toronto, anyway) to come across people who WILL be shocked. I've introduced my partner to old folks, priests, Republicans, you name it - nothing. Lex
The free gift was two round trip flights, three days and two nights in Las Vegas. The catch was, the flights are out of Buffalo airport! I live in Toronto, was invited to an information session in Toronto, by a company that boasts about being Canadian! It never occurred to me that the flights would be from anywhere but Toronto International Airport!!! It's not a huge deal, but I was mad that I'd been mislead. I shouldn't have been, I suppose. That's the business they're in. The fact is that 2 nights isn't very long if you're going all the way to Vegas - I think a 4 hour flight from here - and if I have to spend another couple of hours (at least) getting to and from the airport, it hardly makes it worth my while. So let this be a lesson to you all...
