Just found this site a short while ago and after reading through many of the posts about coming out stories and advice it has gave me the courage to finally tell my mum the truth. I sat with her for a while not really saying much, she knew something was bothering me and when she asked I just said it, " I like guys". She was a bit shocked to start but ended up being very supportive. I feel a lot better now that I've told her and don't have to hide it anymore. Decided to tell my dad tomorrow aswell, I just hope he is supportive too although I know it will be tougher on him than it was for my mum. Just want to finish by saying thanks for all the advice on the site, it's been really helpful.
Congrats and glad it went well with your mom. Let us know how it goes today with your dad. I never told my dad (my mom did) and I regret it know. I think he was hurt that I didn't.
