So, my sister and I were practicing our Italian because we want to go to Italy together someday. One of the phrases we were practicing was "a glass of beer". She jokingly asked if I wanted a glass of beer and I said no. She frowned and said, "That joke never works on my girls." (She's straight.) I asked her if she was trying to tell me something. She said "Are you?" I said, "Maybe..." The next few moments persisted of her asking if I was gay. (I prefer being called a lesbian, but whatever.) I said "Yes. No. I don't know. Maybe." She asked if I liked any of my friends that were girls and I said no to every one. Eventually, we dropped the issue and practiced our Italian. Then, I left and started crying in my room. Later, I came back and we started doing stuff. She brought up the sexual orientation issue again and...I told her I was a lesbian. We talked about it some more and then I told her not to tell anyone. She promised not to and we hugged and stuff. She even said after that, "This explains everything!" Lol. So...One family member down, four more to go! (!)
First one is definitely the hardest. Congrats, I hope the rest of your family is just as understanding.
