I came out to my mom at my aunt's house this afternoon. I was sobbing towards the end of my speech. She fully accepted me and says she doesn't love me any less! "You are always going to be my son." She came over and hugged me. Then she surprised me by asking, "what can I do to support you?" I told her to be supportive if I have a boyfriend over and to just be there for me. She asked if this meant I would date guys and girls at the same time. I told her not at the same time, but I may date both at different times. I am more attracted to guys at this time though. I told her about getting a pride bracelet, and she asked, "Does that mean you are going to cross dress and stuff." I said "No, sorry I meant a wristband, but I don't have any problem if that's how people want to dress themselves, but it's not for me. I am still the same."

Oh, and I also mentioned to her how wrong James Dobson was and how important gay rights are far as discrimination goes and stood up for marriage equality.

Only problem is she is worried about slipping up around my dad, so she wants me to come out to him in 2 weeks. My dad wants to end my brother's therapy in 2 weeks, but my mom thinks he needs to continue. By coming out to my dad myself, he thinks it will allow my dad to be more willing to have it continue for him. I wasn't ready for that.

She also thinks he will more upset if I come out as bisexual than gay. She wants me to come out as gay to him. I don't think she understands us bisexuals very well.
