If you're a woman who is attracted to women--when you come out to someone, what do you say? Do you say, "I am a lesbian?" or "I am gay." or "I'm lesbian." It might seem like a silly question, but for me a big obstacle to coming out is finding the right words.

I think you'll be understood regardless of which one you use.

    How about one of these?

    "I'm not interested in men."
    "I like women."
"I have a girlfriend." (if you're lucky enough to have one).

Do you need to use one of the labels?

Whatever you find most comfortable, there is no right or wrong here.. Just whatever words makes you feel most relaxed and at peace with I think.. Whomever you are conveying the message too will understand what ever words you choose to use.
