I've come out to a few friends, mostly close ones, and had pretty good responses overall, but I was a little concerned about coming out to my dad. My whole family is very accepting of the gay community, but I was nervous that they might be accepting in theory but less in practice. I decided to come out to my dad -- the one I was most worried about -- first on Friday night when he came to visit me at school. I told him I still like men but that I also like women and am sort of seeing a girl right now. I don't know why I was so worried -- it was so wonderful to hear him basically explain to me that he didn't mind either way who I liked. And he said I really appreciated that I'd decided to tell him first out of our whole family. I've been overwhelmed and scared about what was going on in my own mind, and I just wanted to tell my daddy haha. It was so nice and such a great coming out experience, and I really wanted to tell y'all! xo
Congratulations! Glad your coming out went well and that your fears were replaced with a great experience. Well done. It sounds like that coming out to the rest of the family is going to be relatively easy.
Well done, your Dad sounds like a great open minded person. Its a great feeling isnt it, especially when you felt scared before coming out.
