I tried to be funny and failed. But hey, good ending!

This is probably the funniest coming out story that I have to share. All the others were over text.
My friend took it very well  She was the first person I'd told in person, so it was very nerve-wracking.

Her: So [other friend] told me you had something to tell me?
    Me: Um. Yeah...
    Her: Okay, what?!
Me: Well... Um... (about 3 minutes of this)
Me: Okay. I like men like I like coffee. (She knows that I hate coffee.)
    Her: You like black guys?!
Me: *mental facepalm* Noooooo... Think about it.
Her: Oh, you don't like coffee do you?
    Me: Uh huh.
    Her: Are you...?
    Me: Say it!
    Her: lesbian?
    Me: Yep!
Her: AWESOME!!! *practically tackles me with a huge hug*
    Me: So you don't care?
Her: No that's so cool! Wow. I'm stupid. I totally missed the point.

Needless to say, I was very surprised by her reaction. She totally missed the point though. I was trying to be funny! Every time we made eye contact that night, she practically had a heart attack of excitement. I think she was happier about it than me!

Every single time I come out to someone, it's like a huge weight has lifted off my shoulders. Thankfully, I've had no bad coming out experiences, though my parents aren't going to take it well when I finally tell them...

That thought actually crossed my mind more than once.... She could be! Mostly, I just think she's just a weirdo and can't wait to be in a wedding with two dresses  even though that's in the very distant future.
I'm not ruling it out that she's bi though. She's definitely attracted to guys.
