I was talking to my best friend using the text function of Google Hangouts when I accidentally hinted that I was somehow part of the LGBT community. She then asked "Is there something you need to tell me?" I just sat there for several minutes, breathing rapidly, having a panic attack. When I started to respond, my heart dropped. Once I finally told her, I breathed face down into my bed for several minutes. She told me it was fine and that I should never be ashamed, along with other words of encouragement. I could never have imagined how hard it is to come out to someone, but I'm glad I did.
