After knowing since January that I am gay, I have been scared to tell my family. Yesterday the opening for me to say something came and so I did. Apparently they already knew. At least they don't care.
Thanks everyone my family is awesome, and I am so happy to be out. Now comes the extended family. I am really scared of them knowing
Well done! I can't imagain that your extended family could be that bad. I mean, with your close family being supportive, there's not much you can do.
Thanks everyone I know that some of them are homophobic by what they say and post on facebook. Two of my brothers still don't know but they live out of town and out of state. The one who lives out of state, I won't tell if I can help it.
Congratulations! Really happy for you that your family is accepting and that you are happy with being able to be yourself around your family. Try to take it one extended family member at a time. Your family supports you. I'm sure it will help you in coming out to your extended family as well.
Thanks Mirko! I plan on doing it one at a time. My biggest concern is that my dad is the patriarch of the entire family. If one of them doesn't accept me, then my dad is going to have to choose, I don't want him to have to do that.
