So I came out to one of my close friends from college while i was up in NYC for the holiday. He's the first guy from college that I've come out too. Also, the first straight guy. I was crazy nervous . We met for lunch and as we were walking back afterwards I just told him: "So you're the first guy from the group to know this... I'm gay." It went really well. He just said "OK" and kept walking, didn't even break his stride. I asked him if he already knew and he said "No, but it's cool." We spent the rest of the afternoon wandering around the city and catching up. He asked questions, but he was totally fine with it...another example of why I wish I had come out to more people in college. Anyway, just thought I'd share.
Congratulations. I'm glad it went well. Not knowing how people will react is the hardest part about telling someone. It's funny how sometimes the people you think won't take it very well are actually the ones who are more accepting (or vice versa).
congrats, there is always a worry with straight guys as to how they will take. Probably why ive only told girls to be honest!
well done mate im considering telling my friend who's a straight guy because his gf who knows says he'll take it well im les nervous thanks to your post
Very nice that your friend accepts you for who you are. If you think about it, all your friends accep you, but only because the ones who don't, aren't really your friends. Just be careful, just because he acted coola bout it, doesn't mean everyone will.
