I Came Out In An Assembly ^^

    I posted a thread a while back asking about if I should come out in an assembly or not, and I did. It went great. I had been organizing it for some time, and I had a powerpoint and cue card and some teachers to back me up. It was pretty scary - was talking to almost 150 people! But everyone loved it! Everyone was supportive. Not one person had a bad word to say. Everyone has made an effort to use "Hazel" instead of my male name, and people have just been generally great. No-one has really asked questions, so I think they got the gist from the assembly. In the assembly, the audience seemed pretty attentive. In the words of several teachers, "You could have heard a pin drop." It was pretty awesome! All the teachers were told during briefing, and also by email. So today has been pretty swell. ^^

    This actually brought tears to my eyes. That is the best way to come out! I'm so glad that everyone accepted you. Where did you find the courage to come out like that?
