I got an amazing, amazing response when i told my best friend (shes a girl) for about 10 years finally that im gay. I told her in a three page, beautiful letter i slipped under her bedroom door when i was at her house (long story short: we love sending eachother letters)
I got an amazing one back from her telling me how proud she was of me!

    Here are some snip-its:

"Don't feel horrible! First off, I am soooo proud of you! I would use more "o"s in "so" but that seems tacky. I can't imagine the courage it took to write that"

"Ofcourse our friendship will be the same, probably stronger, I think (namely because I now know for sure you don't like me that way). I love you all the same, and I am so honoured that you chose to tell me first."

"Wow, I don't have a lot of space here to write everything. We should go out for coffee or something when you feel up for a face-to-face"

Isnt that great! We are going for coffee after exams and im so glad finally someone from my real life finally knows. Huge step for me! :eusa_danc

Congrats! That is such a major accomplishment, and telling her by letter was a smart move. It's great that she accepts you and remains your friend.

    Thanks again everyone.

Its true, the first is the hardest. When i came out to my friend, it was really me coming out to myself. Its helped me accept who i am and come to terms with my sexuality. Im not ashamed to be Gay anymore! Im telling my next target this Sunday, my sister. That will mark my first family member, another big step. Thankfully she lives in Vancouver and is a hard-core NDP (socialist basicly) voter so she will understand i hope!
