Hey guys, I told a gay guy and 2 friends they were completely fine with it it was great but the gay guy said can we best gay best friends, and im not too sure what that means can someone tell me?

Some will make a distinction between their 'straight' and 'gay' friends, as the topics of conversation, and perhaps the feeling of having a 'special' bond with someone, can differ. Given that the guy is gay as well, I would interpret it as that he might feel that you have a 'special' place among his friends in that you share the same sexual orientation and can relate to things or conversations that might touch upon sexual orientation or discussions of relationships in a similar way, or can empathize with him.
