yeah i'm in exactly the same position here, it would be awkward telling people without making it some big announcement.

my plan is to just say if they ask, but also looking for any better ideas.

Like Crystaltriforce said a LGBT is a great way to come out and even make a whole bunch of new friends it was hard to go at first but after the fear it turned out to be really cool.

Ask davo-man for tips... he was out in high school, then not out initially at uni, then came out. He'll probably have some ideas.

A good way to announce it without announcing it is just bring it up in conversation... "My ex-boyfriend... "

Holy crap, I haven't seen you 'round these parts in ages!

On topic, telling them doesn't really need to be a production at all. I actually didn't come out until I was 25, well after I was out of college. When I came out to my college friends, they didn't give me any flack over it or anything like that. In fact, one of them came out to me as the second person he came out to ever.

Coming out to them will be just like coming out to anyone else, so no need to treat it any differently. Best of luck!
