So I just came out to my mom, and honestly I feel so relieved. She took it really well and said it wasn't anything to be ashamed of. She also told me that she suspected it since I was young and was just waiting for me to finally come to terms with myself and tell her. I do come from a catholic family but none of them immediate or extended have made homophobic remarks before. My mom understands homosexuality, and she knows that people are born gay and that you can't change your sexuality. I dot want to make it seem like I'm bragging I just want to show people that some parents love their children no matter what, and take it really well. So if your parents seem open about it don't be afraid to tell them as it is a huge relief when you do.
Congrats, man. Glad to hear it was such a painless experience for you...enjoy feeling free to be yourself!
