Quick background. My classic rock band split up in 2000. We’ve gone our separate ways and we live about 80 miles apart. I still have some contact with my former guitarist, even came out to him 3 years ago. But the rest of the band I haven’t seen for like 9 years. This morning I get a call from the wife of the drummer wondering if I’m still alive. Guess they had trouble tracking me down in Mannheim, thinking I had moved back to the US. Now they have my cell phone so I’ll be talking to the drummer tonight. I’m so happy to be back in touch since we were very close when we were doing concerts and practice every week. (!):eusa_danc I’m sure we’ll arrange a meeting day in Pforzheim very soon. The challenge is that the former band members don’t know I’m gay (except the guitarist). I’m definitely telling them, maybe even tonight on the phone. I’m anxious to see them again and am damn curious as to how they will react. We always got along extremely well so I don’t anticipate any problems. That phone call sure made my Monday. It gives me the opportunity to add another chapter in the “coming out” process with people I really care about. :icon_bigg Wish me luck and I’ll let everyone know how it turns out.
Yay !! Congrats It should go well, I know musicians and most of the time they're very open minded people :icon_wink Good luck !! (*hug*)
Congratulations! I think it's great when you feel so comfortable with people,to just be who you are. I hope all goes the way you want it to.
