My mom is the accepting one in my family. So... here's the story: So I walked downstairs, and saw that NCIS was on the TV. I was like, "Hey look it's NCIS! I forgot today was Tuesday. You know what else today is? Coming Out Day. Well, ga' Night." Her: "Well are you gonna come out?" Me: "Should I?" Her: "Are you gay?" Me: "Maybe...." explains pansexuality Her: (Lots of variations of how it's cool and doesn't really matter, I'm still the same person) Me: "You didn't catch on with my dyed hair, flannel, joining the GSA, or the fact that I went to Pride?" Her: "Well I just assumed you were really open-minded. But I'm not surprised." OH MY GOSH HER REACTION WAS BASICALLY "I DON'T CARE YOU'RE STILLL MY DAUGHTER WHO YOU LIKE DOESN'T MATTER" SHE IS AN AWESOME MOTHER.
That truly is awesome, Darsch Hielle! And it sounds like her real, honest reaction, not a 'first reaction upon hearing the news and being shocked' type of reaction. More power to you!
