Well, I just came out to one of my best friends; we've been friends since 6th grade. It was on AIM, which kinda sucks because I wanted to tell her in person, but every time I've seen her someone else has been there. Here is the convo (we were talking about my ex): Me (7:05:05 PM): the thing is there were no feelings for me to begin with. i just liked the attention i think "Becky" (7:05:58 PM): yeah.. Me (7:09:26 PM): actually, can i tell you something kinda personal? "Becky" (7:09:32 PM): sure. Me (7:09:42 PM): i don't really have feelings for any guy "Becky" (7:10:19 PM): thats ok. Me (7:10:22 PM): ok "Becky" (7:10:27 PM): Me (7:10:51 PM): i wanted to tell you last time i saw you but then didn't really have the opportunity w/ other ppl around "Becky" (7:11:09 PM): did you tell emily? Me (7:11:13 PM): yeah Me (7:11:20 PM): she's known for a few months "Becky" (7:11:30 PM): cool. "Becky" (7:11:53 PM): have you found any other interests or anything? Me (7:12:14 PM): i have (past tense), but nothing recently Me (7:12:18 PM): holy crap i'm shaking. lol "Becky" (7:12:29 PM): why are you shaking? Wow! That's how all friends ( and people in general) should react. Your friend is just awesome and so are you for trusting her enough to come out to her. Congratulations!
thanks guys. ps, notice the 4 minutes between the time she said "yeah..." and i asked if i could tell her something personal. that 4 minutes is when i imagined exactly what i was going to tell her and when i started getting extremely nervous. but i'm really glad everything worked out and we continued to talk until about 9.
