Hello! I'm just joined today! My name is Jacob, and I'm gay. Wow, that's still weird to type. Anyways, I just come out to my first person today and it was really encouraging! My brother was in town for Mother's Day. I have suspected he was gay for a longggg time and for a couple reasons, one of them being I walked in on him and another guy kissing in the kitchen. Last week, he texted me saying he wanted to go to Six Flags and I was like "sounds great!" Since that moment, I knew I wanted to come out to him in the park. I considered doing it on a roller coaster but I wanted it to be serious. Anyways, we get to the park, and I tried to come out all morning. I kept stopping myself! Finally, I had convinced myself out of it by telling myself that "I obviously wasn't ready." When we get to lunch, he's like, "I know this isn't the best venue, but I wanted to tell you something before I left for China (he's movint). I'm bisexual." I almost pissed myself right then and there! I said to him, "That's funny, because I'm pretty sure I'm gay." He started laughing right then and there! After hugging it out, we spent the whole day wandering the park, talking about our sexualities, experiences, parents, and all that! He's out to everybody, and he had just came out to my parents the night before! He was so surprised about me. I'm so glad I worked up the nerve to finally come out to somebody. He was so supportive and chill. It was the perfect day. Now I just gotta figure out how I'm gonna come out to everybody else.
That is a great coming out story! Congrats. Sounds like a really fun day! Everyone's coming out journey is different, so come out to others when you feel ready.
Thanks everyone! It was a pretty good first experience! It's also nice to have that family support system from someone who gets it.
Oh man, that's like the dream scenario lol! I'm really happy for you, congrats dude! If only he stayed in the US so you guys could chill longer. Before he goes, you should ask him on how he came out to his own friends. While there is no script for coming out to people, you guys are brothers and are probably pretty similar, so maybe you could pick up some tips from him
That is a very sweet story. It made me smile when I read it, and I'm smiling as I type this. Very cool, Jacob!
