Today there was a local news paper on the table in my work breakroom \ kitchen, and right on the front page was an interview with a local gay couple. By the time I entered the breakroom, there was already a conversation going on between 3 co-workers about "gays". One of the guy's made the comment that he has GayDar, and there were no gays in our agency, because he could tell a gay a mile away. :dry: I told him he better get his gaydar re-tuned, because it wasn't working correctly. He looked at me and asked "what do you mean by that"? I winked at him and smiled...and said nothing more. It took a few seconds ... but the other two co-workers got it and their faces cracked a wide smile, but he still doesn't have a clue :roflmao: (my other two co-workers asked me all kinds of questions after the idiot with Gaydar left, and they were cool with me ) I've known all 3 of them for over 10 years, and to be honest, if there had been more people in the breakroom at the time, I doubt I would have said anything at all. It just kind of happened without me planning it. I would imagine the other 40 co-workers will also know if the gaydar expert ever figures out what I was trying to imply. :roflmao:
Omg that is an awesome story! Haha so funny. But its a good thing that happened. I like when it kinda just happens and you dont have to plan it out what your going to tell people and then have to worry about it.. It kinda happened to me the other night too. It was nice to not have to worry as much.
my favorite part is the wink and smile. he must have one of those gaydars that works like a fire alarm (near open flames)
i would love to take this guy to a gay bar and have him stand there and film the realisation slowly surfacing on his face lol.... the :| :O :'( allthough from this it would prob take for a guy to come up and pinch his ass to start any thought process :S
:lol: That's great. Kind of reminds me of when I came out to some of my friends. My brother (who already knew) said to one of my friends, "Which one of us do you think is most likely to be secretly gay?" and she chose my brother, saying she doubted I was anything but straight. I told her later and she was so shocked. It made me laugh. But congratulations! It sounds like they all took it really well.
Just an update ... My co-worker with "Gaydar" finally figured it out today :roflmao:. But, he still had to ask me if I was just teasing him, or if I was serious when I winked and smiled a couple of days ago. :lol: I don't want to say that he's a little slow .... but I'd bet it would take him an hour and a half to watch 60 minutes :roflmao: (is that old news show still on the tv? I don't watch much tv )
I think it's always a little hard to take the plunge, but just doing so in a gentle way such as you did, is priceless! It may also have the effect of perhaps "tuning" his gaydar a little better
