it's not word perfect as am writing on my mobile with no access to emails but this is pretty much what i sent to her
"Hey (sisters name),
What i'm about to say may suprise you or not, i don't know, but i can assure you that it doesn't change me as a person or affect how i fit in to the family at all, though i hope that by letting you know about this part of me we will become a lot closer.
Well if you haven't guessed by now i've sent you this e.mail to tell you i'm pretty sure that i'm gay... It's taken me a long while to work this out (mainly due to the years on drugs) so i don't expect you to accept it easily at first but i want you to know i'm ready to answer any questions you might have on the subject. I hope that this doesn't change the way you feel about me.
I love you sis and you're the first person i've told in the family, only one other friend knows, bearing that in mind i'd appreciate it if you didn't mention this to anyone, not even (her boyfriends name) as i'd prefer to tell them all in my own way and time.
I guess there's nothing more to say other than please keep in mind how hard it was to share this with you.

I'm so happy. This is the text she sent to me late last night;
" Right, as you'd expect i couldn't wait very long to read the e-mail as i was worried!
Well babes... It wasn't something i saw coming at all but i'm really glad you felt you could tell me. It was a shock but it really doesn't change anything, i love you for being you and am proud to be your older sister and will support you always.
(her boyfriend)'s brother is gay so it's not a big issue for us. If it's o.k with you i'll tell him as i could do with someone to talk to myself about it. Don't worry, we wont tell anybody. Feel free to pop 'round for a chat if you need. Love you lots!!! XXX"
