    yep. I plan to come out completely soon.
    though, I plan to take it in steps.

    first, I had planned to tell my friends I was this elusive "hruikan", as I mentioned about my friends. "hruikan" was a make believe user of a word processor forum I ran. I used it to gather info on how they'd react.

    that's planned for after my prom night.

    now, I will also come out about one thing to the whole world then. I want to either:
    come out as being a furry
    come out as being gay

    basically, I will join a steam group of either the gay steam group, or a furry steam group.

    this is BIG, as my mod I'm making for portal would MASSIVELY stur up the "portal" community, should it be released as planned.
    so millions would DL the mod, and a few hundred would check my steam user, and see the groups I'm in.

    I plan to come out about the second in august, after I get my results on results day.

    so, here's where you can change the path of this story :slight_smile:
    when do I come out about what?

    in essence, this is an interactive coming out :roflmao:

    also, as soon as I join the group, my dad's side of the family will know. my cousin will probably tell them. there's a 65% chance he would.

    and that may cause problems as I'm the last person left to carry on the bloodline for my dad's side :icon_sad:

    however, being embarrased because people know your furry isn't a walk in the park either.

    so, which is better to come out about first? :lol:

    edit:I voted "none at all" to see the results. I want to see your opinion, not to make huge decisions like that :lol:

    Umm if it's a choice between coming out as furry or gay, go with gay. Please. Do not come out as a furry. Why? BECAUSE YOU DON'T NEED TO. Furry is not like gay. (I'm not saying it's bad, I'm saying it isn't important enough to go through this whole coming out thing.) Don't make a big deal outta it. It doesn't really matter whether you tell people or not. OK. Now that we're done with that, work on coming out as gay.

    I know, but I WANT to. I really do :confused:
    and hey, I'm much more confident in the coming out department. hell, I've come out to my immediate family and my cousing :icon_bigg
    if anything, I'm likely to block out the bottom 3 and choose one of the top 2, but I want to see what people truly think

    I wouldn't come out as a furry... save that for conventions or something. You don't need everyone to know that because quite honestly it's not a big part of everyday life. Being gay is a big part, especially in the future if you have a bf/partner/husband.

    If you feel the need to come out as both, then by all means do so. I would go for the bigger one first and go with gay, followed later by furry. I am not quite sure what a furry is, so I don't mean to be rude but I figured it means your into fur sexually. If you feel that one is more important to be open about first, then go with it.

    Hi there! Not sure if it is such a good idea to do it all in go. I think it would be best if you come out as gay first. In making your decision about coming out as furry ask yourself:
    - Why do you want to come out as furry?
    - How important is it that other (or everyone) need(s) to know this
    - What could be some of the consequences/implications?

    I would suggest (and that is if you feel comfortable with the idea that 'everyone' knows) to come out as gay, and leave it at that. But it is really up to you as to what you want to do.

    I'm really excited for you! I like the idea of "Interactive" coming out :slight_smile:

    I agree with the others though, come out as gay and then figure out if you REALLY want people to be aware of the furry part. Good luck! Let us know how it goes :slight_smile:

    I want to join the steam group though.
    I saw someone in game. they sorta had a "spray" on a wall, with "furry pride"
    I just thought "right, if he can be completely open, so can I"

    and I have decided:
    "right. enough's enough. I'm going to get a chainsaw and cut this damn closet to pieces!" :roflmao:

    and, that means being completely open. and this is just one of the choices I have to make :slight_smile:

    You should come out as gay. But correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that furry is more of a fetish? You can tell people that you are into Anthropomorphic art as a softer approach.

    personally i choose Gay then furry because if you want to come out as a furry then you can but i don't see any point in telling people that you wont be having sex with that because most people probably don't want to know.

    I have said before, I won't actually "come out" like telling them.
    I want to join those groups, which will mean others will know I am one or the other.
    so, it's all about groups.

    so, if I join either one, it will show up on my friends "updates", showing I'm one or the other.

    I WILL join both at some point, but I just thought it would be better if you lot could choose for me, as it would make it "interactive" and I don't have to go through the stress of choosing.

    looking at it now, I shouldn't have bothered X.X

    so, you can see that if I join, my friends will know, as well as anyone who wants to know who I am by visiting my steam page

    hence why I am "coming out" in a way. and mass coming out, as many will see me in steam due to our mod's predicted popularity.

    What I was trying to say in the first post was just 'don't do one of those longwinded sitdown seriousbusiness coming outs with the furry'. It's a friggin hobby/possibly fetish.

    And now, could you explain more about what these steam groups are? I think I get it. You want to join these groups which would happen to inform your peeps about your gay/furry characteristics. If you just want to join the groups (because they're cool I guess), join them. Do it. Just do it. Both of 'em. Right now and immediately.

    But I would suggest for the gay coming out you first tell any important people who you know will be seeing this. Important people=people who deserve for you to come out to them personally instead of from glancing on an online gamer profile. Unless your trying to go for that 'casual slip it in conversation like it's nothing' kind of coming out.

    my cousin's don't take anyone seriously. this'll make it serious to them.
    so, basically, anyone in the world can see what group I join. if our mod's popular, my profile is seen a lit, so people see my group.
    but, I will join both, but I want to take it slowly. it'll be easier for people to digest :icon_wink

    Come out as Gay first, furry after.
    Coming out as gay is more important to your daily life than coming out as a furry is.
    Also it's more likely someone will understand you're gay and respect you than if you come out as a furry.

    then, that's it. coming out IVL, and consequently, IRL too :confused:
    can't lie and say I'm not nervous, but it seems like a relief.
    I'm actually interested in how they react :confused:
    to see who are true friends or not.
