I Came out last century hah! funny to be able to say that. back then no internet to talk about it all or get info, just yourself and a boyfriend, and a sister who learned about it when I was 15.
only gay stuff was porn, and then later going to pubs but scared you get caught for underage drinking. but prior to pubs and clubs it was very very lonely. you young guys so lucky to be able to share. i hope it helps you to make wise choices.

    downboyup,

I do consider myself very lucky for having found a site such as this. I would say that it has been most helpful because it provides me with an opportunity to talk to others at various stages of the "coming out" process and share and learn from them.

I am very grateful for not being born gay/bi 50 years ago, not only today there's the Net but a better acceptance of homosexuality.

The Net is a great place for advice and has helped me (and others) alot.
If it weren't for the Net, I'd have never met my lover !!

I'm so glad that gay websites are so safe. There are the occational bored straight person that signs up just to piss us off but really it's not bad.

I just can't imagine what I'd be going through right now if I didn't have the internet and places like this to discuss stuff. We are so fucking lucky.

    i agree.
without having randomy IM'd Becky G. and combined with her telling me about this site.
i definately wouldnt be where i am today.
with being able to come out to a friend last night, kinda pathetically, but still done.

so i really thank Becky, cause without her, i wouldnt be where i am today.
i wouldnt even have thought of coming out.

so thanks EC. and thanks Becky.
    we really are so lucky.

I completely agree with you downboyup. It would have been wonderful to have a site like this (and indeed the Internet and computers to access it) when I was in my teens and 20s. I'm sure with the information, support and friendship that a site like this offers I would have come out much sooner and wouldn't have wasted those 10+ years (I came out when I was 26).

From your biography in your profile you have clearly been through a lot in your life so far. I hope you can share some of your experiences here so that others may be able to learn from them.

Right, just imagine if we dont have a computer next to us, we wont be happy this much.

And because of the sucessful help from GLBT forums or websites, tenagers now can come out at an early age. So they can be more sucessful in their lives:wink:

The net is good if you make it good

I don't know what I would have done if I didn't have the internet during that tough part in my life where I was looking for others like me and trying to find support, the internet definitely helped me and still does.

Yeah, I couldn't imagine what it would be like to not have any sort of support system like this.

Every time I hear from an older gay man, I'm always shocked by what they've been through and how tough it seems to have been for them.

This site really did help me find out, and I have to thank everyone here for helping me. I would have never told anyone if it weren't for you guys. +, it's kinda nice being able to talk to other gay people that are going through the same thing, something i've never been able to do.
